  • Skinny Puppy - Tormentor

Skinny Puppy often make songs about animal experimentation and vivisection, on the far left opposition. The album that this album is on was made during a period of their increasing heroin addiction, extreme stage performances, and internal disputes. This song represents more than just animal experimentation to me, but everything slowly falling apart to the point of your values being completely divergent. The album makes heavy use of hallucination concepts.

Youth is pretty great, and I never really listen to the Grateful Dead, but I'm liking that.

A Perfect Circle - By and Down

TV on the Radio - DLZ

Supposedly about the corruption of science and scientific theory, as I'm going to infer from the album.
  • I've been in a rut lately with any electronic music and have been looking further into the indie rock scene along with some anti-folk.

Twenty One Pilots worked it's way back into my life and I'm thinking about re-downloading Neutral Milk Hotel - In the Aeroplane Over the Sea for the 32nd time, but I'm going to listen to On Avery Island, first.

I'm thinking about getting another Daft Punk album I haven't listened to yet.

I wish Cherub would make another album like mom & dad.

I like how Kimya Dawson teamed up with Adam Green. I never would have thought they would team up, I need to listen to their Moldy Peaches album really soon. I already have The Uncluded.

Baths seems like a total nerd from his picture but he comes out with some solid low-fi stuff. I need to get into more Industrial Hip-Hop and find more pill wave.

Duality is another album I need to reattempt to DL. Never listen to anyone about how shitty rap is. They just aren't listening to the right people. I wonder if Hopsin came out with any new IllMinds?

Should I get any Nujabes albums again? Praise that man. I would if I hadn't listened to it a hundred times over.

Maybe I should look for greatest 80s metal hits.
  • Baths? Industrial hip hop? Joke of the week there. Get ready to shit yourself because industrial hip hop (opposed to glitch hop) is a whole different thing.

  • No I totally get Baths isn't industrial. I was just making a statement I guess I should have separated.
But, what you just posted is something I really like. Looking more into this, Dalek.
  • Also Death Grips is a good entry point in my opinion.

  • Come on skinny love just last the year
Pour a little salt we were never here
My, my, my, my, my, my, my, my
Staring at the sink of blood and crushed veneer

I tell my love to wreck it all
Cut out all the ropes and let me fall
My, my, my, my, my, my, my, my
Right in the moment this order's tall

I told you to be patient
I told you to be fine
I told you to be balanced
I told you to be kind
In the morning I'll be with you
But it will be a different "kind"
I'll be holding all the tickets
And you'll be owning all the fines

Come on skinny love what happened here
Suckle on the hope in lite brassiere
My, my, my, my, my, my, my, my
Sullen load is full; so slow on the split

I told you to be patient
I told you to be fine
I told you to be balanced
I told you to be kind
Now all your love is wasted?
Then who the hell was I?
Now I'm breaking at the britches
And at the end of all your lines

    Who will love you?
    Who will fight?
    Who will fall far behind?

  • I've heard of a song without a name
    It stays the same
    And everyone learns the melodies
    It's just the name
    We need

    Summer, summer
    Bring the ghost to me
    It's what I want

    In its silence
    It will let me hear
    It's just so fun

Pace yourself to the beat of the drums
I am hoping for something else
Move your hands, tell me what I should learn
This is nothing like I expected

I've heard of a chorus melody
    That's in the air
I need you take it off the list
    It's only fair to me

    Won't you come to me?
    To the safest rock
I will show you its place

  • A recent favorite, I like it more than One Arm Scissor
  • Bastille is the band that sings Pompeii, that's pretty well known but they also make covers of other well known songs by adding their own twist to it. I really love that about them. This is a cover of a Lana del Rey song, Blue Jeans. It's really haunting, I like it a lot.

I'm really glad you mentioned Bastille && that is a great song.

This is The Neighbourhood - Sweater Weather

And I simply like it because, "I want the world in my hands."

    Passenger - Let Her Go

"Well you only need the light when it's burning low
Only miss the sun when it starts to snow
Only know you love her when you let her go

Only know you've been high when you're feeling low
Only hate the road when you're missin' home
Only know you love her when you let her go
    And you let her go"

  • Manchester Orchestra - Where Have You Been?

They call holidays an option for a reason
I heard you're coming back to life just for the fourth
I've been catching all your ghosts for every season
I pray to god you won't come back here anymore

do you pray with him, too?

They should deliver all my blessings
in small brown paper handbags near the porch
I wished I'd known that you were bleeding while I sat
and watched you reading with the lord

    I read with him, too

    when you look at me
    I'll be digesting your legs
    cause I can hardly see
what's in front of me these days
    and those days, too.

I've got to take what I'm making
    and turn it into something
I've got to take what I'm making
    and turn it into something
    for you
I've got to break what I'm making
    and turn it into nothing
I've got to break what I'm making
    and turn it into nothing
    for you

    when you look at me
    I'll be digesting your legs
    cause I can hardly see
what's in front of me these days
    and those days, too.

    God, where have you been?
    God, where have you been?
    God, where have you been?
    God, where have you been?

God, oh God, where have you been?
God, my God, my God, where have you been?
    God, where have you been?
God, God, where have you been?
  • Something I've been listening to for awhile lately:

    Pressure, pushing down on me
Pressing down on you, no man ask for
Under pressure, that burns a building down
    Splits a family in two
    Puts people on streets

    That's o-kay
    It's the terror of knowing
    What this world is about
    Watching some good friends
    Screaming `Let me out'
    Pray tomorrow takes me higher
Pressure on people, people on streets

    O-kay
Chipping around, kick my brains around the floor
These are the days it never rains but it pours

People on streets, people on streets

    It's the terror of knowing
    What this world is about,
    Watching some good friends
    Screaming `Let me out'
    Pray tomorrow takes me higher
Pressure on people, people on streets

Turned away from it all, like a blind man
Sat on a fence but it don't work
    Keep coming up with love
But it's so slashed and torn
    Why why why?
Love love love love love love love

Insanity laughs, under pressure we're cracking
Can't we give ourselves one more chance
Why can't we give love one more chance
Why can't we give love, give love, give love, give love, give love, give love, give love, give love

Cause love's such an old fashioned word
And love dares you to care
For the people on the edge of the night
And love dares you to change our way of
    Caring about ourselves

This is our last dance (x2)
    This is ourselves
    Under pressure
    Under pressure
    Under pressure

  • Especially the first song.
  • Sample from an album that recently bumped up into my top five albums ever

Another recent favorite from a classic post-punk/goth band

Probably my favorite acid house single of the moment

  • "Jesus Christ, that's a pretty face
The kind you'd find on someone that could save
If they don't put me away
    Well, it'll be a miracle"
  • Yeah that's off my favorite Brand New album. Great band

    Always a favorite: The Beatles.

@Malkav That is also my favorite album. But "The Archers Bows have Broken" is my favorite song next to Jesus

"Who do you carry that torch for, my young man?
    Do you believe in anything?
Do you carry it around just to burn things to the ground?"

Edit: Adding more songs to the thread without double posting. (Not sure if that's an official rule)
"Spring" has been one of my favorite song for awhile now, considering how calming the song is. Whenever I feel angry or disappointed, this song always does the trick to sooth out the negative energy.

"Azen" by the Losers I've always been a fan of songs similar to this, like "Isolated System" by Muse I believe Losers were influenced by Muse. This type of genre feels perfect for me while gaming.
